If you've been wondering where I've been lately, all I can do is blame this severe case of Seasonal Affective Disorder. I don't want to complain as we could use all the help defeating our drought, but it's really starting to get to me. However, with the weather being gorgeous today, I am feeling revived and raring to go (til Wednesday when the rain is set to return anyway), so let's dive right in to my welcome back blog!
It seems that no matter how many times I send Jan down to Georgia to speak on LeRoy and sell some books, she still manages to sell a TON! I honestly didn't think there was anyone left in Georgia that didn't have a copy of The War Outside My Window by now. Many thanks to the Writers Group of Macon for proving me wrong with Jan's latest appearance. She'll be touring the state ONCE AGAIN come May, so peep our calendar and be sure to take in an event and buy a book, if you haven't already. Don't be the odd man out!
We are becoming a little kidcentric these days here at Savas Beatie. Not just with the voice of young LeRoy, but also with the impending release of the Curriculum Guide to the War Outside My Window - set to come out this summer! If you are an educator (public or private school systems as well as the home school set) and you're interested in introducing LeRoy and the Civil War to your kids, shoot me an email so I can get you a sample for consideration!
The kids themselves should also start paying attention to, not only our page, but also the Facebook page of The Gettysburg Heritage Center as we will soon have some pretty exciting news on our upcoming Gettysburg Kids Who Did the Impossible book coming up soon as well - so stay tuned!
Until next week, y'all! Unless it's raining... again... some more... in which case, I make no promises.
